Mark Miller is the Global CEO of Volaris Group and Trapeze Group. In addition, Mark is the COO at Constellation Software – Volaris Group’s parent company. He began his career as a software developer and it was during that time that he cofounded Trapeze Group in 1995. Mark has a passion for software technology and building innovative businesses that last forever. His goal is to help intrapreneurs and entrepreneurs surround themselves with a great team so that they can be leaders in their industries. Mark received a B.Sc. in Statistics and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. In addition, Mark has attended the Executive Marketing Program at the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario. He is considered a mentor for the German Startups Association and is proud to be a part of Deutsche Start-Up Camp.
CFO, Volaris Group
Brian Beattie is the Chief Financial Officer at Volaris Group. Brian has over 20 years of experience in Finance and served as CFO for multiples organizations before joining Volaris in 2005. Besides overseeing the financial health of the company, Brian works closely with Volaris’ legal and M&A team on all new acquisitions. Brian is an expert on every stage of the M&A process – from sending out the non-disclosure agreement to executing the sales purchase agreement. Brian has an HBA in Economics and Finance from the University of Toronto and is a certified chartered accountant.
President, Volaris Group - Comms & Media
David has over 20 years leadership experience with strong domain expertise in telecommunications enterprise software. He joined Volaris in 2013 as President of the Communications & Media vertical. David has a BEng in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Brunel University. He also serves as Director at Envisio, Chairman of the Board at AceTech Ontario, and Director at Redback Conferencing.
Co-president, Nokia - IP/Optical Networks
Basil joined Nokia in 2016. He was previously President of IP Routing and Transport at Alcatel-Lucent. Alcatel-Lucent’s IP Routing and Transport revenues exceeded $5 billion across IP, Transport, Video and Cloud/Data Center technologies during his tenure. Basil joined Alcatel in 2003 through the acquisition of privately held TiMetra Networks. TiMetra was a venture-backed Silicon Valley start-up focused on service routers for IP/MPLS networks where he was founder, President and CEO. Since the acquisition Basil and the team from TiMetra have steadily grown Alcatel-Lucent’s IP routing business. The business has gained market share consistently for a decade; from entry Alcatel-Lucent attained the #2 position in service provider IP/MPLS routing with more than 400 customers in 120+ countries around the world.
COO - Bango
Paul is Chief Operating Officer at Bango, a mobile payment company and a Non-Executive Director at Velocix. Prior to joining Bango, Paul led the Video Division in Nokia, which he grew from a small start-up to the world’s leading IP video streaming specialist. In 2018, Paul orchestrated the spin out of the division from Nokia to create a pure-play streaming technology company. With over 20 years of experience in the Telecoms market, having held leadership positions in Cray Communications, Lucent, Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia, Paul has a strong track record of successfully bringing new technologies to market. Paul is a trustee of the Cambridge Primary Education Trust and holds a first class degree in Electronics from the University of Durham, England.
