Mark Miller

CEO, Volaris Group

Mark Miller is the Global CEO of Volaris Group and Trapeze Group. In addition, Mark is the COO at Constellation Software – Volaris Group’s parent company. He began his career as a software developer and it was during that time that he cofounded Trapeze Group in 1995. Mark has a passion for software technology and building innovative businesses that last forever. His goal is to help intrapreneurs and entrepreneurs surround themselves with a great team so that they can be leaders in their industries. Mark received a B.Sc. in Statistics and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. In addition, Mark has attended the Executive Marketing Program at the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario. He is considered a mentor for the German Startups Association and is proud to be a part of Deutsche Start-Up Camp.

Brian Beattie

CFO, Volaris Group

Brian Beattie is the Chief Financial Officer at Volaris Group. Brian has over 20 years of experience in Finance and served as CFO for multiples organizations before joining Volaris in 2005. Besides overseeing the financial health of the company, Brian works closely with Volaris’ legal and M&A team on all new acquisitions. Brian is an expert on every stage of the M&A process – from sending out the non-disclosure agreement to executing the sales purchase agreement. Brian has an HBA in Economics and Finance from the University of Toronto and is a certified chartered accountant.

David Nyland

President, Lumine Group

David Nyland is President of Lumine Group. Since 2013, he and his team have built Lumine’s global portfolio of communications and media software businesses encompassing a global network of 16 acquisitions, serving over 1000 customers and partners. He has been CEO of two companies, a public company with a global scale, and a VC-funded private business, during which he completed acquisitions of businesses in North America and Europe. David has a BEng in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Brunel University.

David Sharpley

Group Leader, Lumine Group

David is Group Leader at Lumine Group. He has spent his entire career in communications and network software for service providers worldwide. David has had experience on the sell-side with companies such as Bridgewater Systems (Amdocs), MetaSolv Software (Oracle), the buy-side with Oracle (BEA, Netsure), Amdocs (Comverse), MetaSolv (Orchestream), and complex spin-outs from Nortel and Nokia (Velocix). David manages Velocix as part of his comms and media focused portfolio of companies.

Bernard Pailleux

VP Operations IP/Optical, Network Infrastructure BG at Nokia

Bernard Pailleux is Vice President of Operations IP/Optical Business Divisions for the Network Infrastructure Business Group (NI BG) at Nokia, where he has responsibility for the overall management and day-to-day operations of the divisions. He heads up the supply chain, procurement, quality, sales operations, and transformation teams of NI BG, as well as leads the Video Business Unit. Bernard previously held roles as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the IP Routing & Optical Networks Business Group (ION BG), and as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the ION BG. Bernard joined Nokia through the acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent, where he served in different financial leadership positions, including regional CFO, BU controller, and Treasury in the USA, France, Italy, and UK over the past 20 years. He holds a post-master’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Lyon, France.
